Social Policy

The problems raised by our clients give us information that we use to campaign for improvements to social policy, locally and nationally. Our role in raising awareness of social policy issues is a very important one. By providing concrete examples of how particular policies are actually working on the ground, we can make local MPs, councillors and officials aware of any problems.

We also feed this information to Citizens Advice headquarters so that they can put together a national picture of these problems and lobby for improvements. Citizens Advice has a strong record of influencing government and opinion formers in developing and changing social policy. It is the facts and stories gathered in local CABs like ours that make this possible.
